From a Humble Sweet Shop in MVP Colony to Vizag’s Go-To for Festival Flavours
In 2015, tucked away in the heart of MVP Colony, a small sweet shop opened its doors — not with big banners or loud promotions, but with the quiet confidence of tradition and the aroma of pure ghee and jaggery. That shop was Sri Lakshmi Ganapathi Sweets.
What began as a modest attempt to bring authentic Andhra sweets to the local neighborhood soon became a festive landmark in Visakhapatnam. With each Bobbatlu flipped on the tawa, each Putharekulu carefully rolled, and every laddu lovingly hand-shaped, our kitchen became more than a workspace — it became a part of people’s celebrations.
We became famously known for our piping hot, ghee-rich Bobbatlu — so much so that many didn’t even refer to us by name. Instead, they’d simply say, “Let’s go to the vedi vedi nethi Bobbatlu place.” And honestly, we wear that with pride.
Word spread quickly. Not through ads, but through taste. Through families sharing our sweets at weddings. Through neighbors recommending us before every Diwali. And through every loyal customer who stood in line, year after year, knowing that their festival wasn’t complete without a box from Sri lakshmi Ganapathi Sweets (SLGS).
Today, with two buzzing branches and thousands of memories behind us, our commitment remains the same: to serve handcrafted sweets that carry the richness of our heritage and the warmth of home.
